About half a year ago i tried dying my blonde hair brown and it turned out black. When it didn’t fade I went to a stylist to have him lift the color. Now my roots are my natural color and a nice slightly golden blonde hair. But the rest is a orangy-darker color. It is much more golden then the rest and is about a shade darker. it’s not terrible, but it is really bothering me. I thought maybe it would fade or something with the sun and washing it. But it hasn’t much at all. I have been using shimmer lights but it hasn’t done much. I just want my hair my natural color again. I do NOT want to dye my hair permanently and I do NOT want to go to a stylist. I have been doing research on hair toner and am thinking of using a semi-permanent toner to remove the brassy color. But since I have about an inch and a half or two inches of my natural color I do not know if I would use the toner all over my hair or just on the brassy part. Also, if anyone has any better suggestions then a toner I would be open to that. Thank you!

Hello, I went to a salon a few days ago to get blonde highlights in my hair. Im naturally a medium brown. Well when i went to get my highlights re-done my roots were already down to about half of my head. Well now where my roots were showing my hair is an ugly brassy orangey yellowish color. My hairstylist is like an hour away n i dont really feel like going there soon. Is there anything that will help lift the ugly colors from my roots? Any toners or anything until I go back to my hairstylist n make her fix my hair? Pls help!

Yesterday i wen’t to the salon to get my hair highlighted. The lady highlighted my hair light brown/dark blonde in random areas. After she did it, i liked it but i wanted to make it lighter cuz you can’t really see it unless your up close. So, i stupidly went to the shops 2 go get some blonde hair dye to attempt to try to make it lighter, unfortunately, my hair has turned like a orangey light brown! it looks alright in the middle and towards the ends of my hair, but i stupidly put heaps of the blonde dye on the top of my head, and now the top of my head is orange and then it goes brown, then black at the bottom. omg could this be any worse. Yes i know i was really stupid of attempting to lighten my highlights on naturally black hair, now it has turned orange. Can anyone give me any ideas of trying to get rid of the hair dye, so that the roots of my hair is black again? I’m okay with the rest of my hair, but its just that my roots r frekin orange. will baking soda work? or will it lighten it even more?
My hair was a light brown/ ash blonde color and I used a semi permanent dye to make it a shade lighter. It actually made my hair darker and super orange! With time, the darkness in my hair completely washed out and left my hair lighter than before, yet it is STILL orange. This is a disaster…I just want to remove the orange tones. I do not want lighter hair (in fact I want it to be back to my natural color) I now know never to use a semi perm kit. What can I do to at least just remove the brassy tones without changing the darkness of my hair?
